I have had really good luck with vneagir and baking soda on hard water deposits. Coat the area with baking soda (make a thick paste if needed), then spray or poor vneagir on the area, just enough to cause it to fizz. Keep adding vneagir until it no longer fizzes. Let the baking soda and vneagir sit for a bit, then scrub hard water off. This may take a couple of applications depending on how bad the hard water spots are.
