EDFRED founders Ed & Fred Kwiecien were industrial chemists. Their primary formulations were for commercial use such as food processors and asphalt paving. About 1964 they observed an under served market for premium consumer cleaners for tough jobs – removing lime, calcium, rust and driveway oils stains.
Orchard Supply Hardware on the West Coast was one of the early hardware stores to come aboard with EDFRED. From the sixties until their unfortunate closing of 100 stores in 2018, consumers grew accustomed to our eye level shelf placement at every location.
Ace Hardware partnered with EDFRED about the same time as OSH, with other hardware stores such as True Value following, along with various specialty retailers.
EDFRED Corporation continues in their tradition, offering industrial quality products that really work.
