Sandy,

For cleaning leather you could try our Liquid Garage & Driveway Cleaner. Diluted it makes a gently all purpose cleaner. Just be sure to try it out on a small area first, as we have not tested this product for leather.

Sandy January 11, 2012 at 5:38 pm

Just used the Shower stall and tile cleaner and was astonished! The product is the best I have ever used and believe me, I have used a lot! I washed the scum away. Not a bit of scrubbing. Can not wait to use other products. I too live have a home in Mn and just called the local Ace store and was told they do not carry the product. I would love to show it off there. I will order 4 gallons and have it shipped so I can give to all my relatives and friends! Please develop a leather cleaner!

Great Product!

Marcie,

You should be able to buy this from your local Ace Hardware or Orchard Supply Hardware. We sent the OSH buyer a FYI about possible out of stock situations. You can also click on “Retailers” above for complete location information.

I have been using your bowl cleaner for a long time and now I can’t find it anywhere.

I live in the Ceres/Modesto area. (95350) I would like to know where I can find the product. It is the best bowl cleaner I have ever used.

love your product… ONLY thing that would get the brown gunk the tenant built up for who knows how long on the floor of my fiberglass shower stall.love your product…

In 2008 I bought a 70′s townhouse in an area with hard water. The toilets were stained and I tried lots of scrubbing products with no real results. I tried EdFred toilet cleaner this weekend and within minutes I saw a change. Wow! Looks like I won’t be saving up for new toilets. Thanks.

Admin January 1, 2012 at 8:21 pm

Jeff,

If any of our retailers are out of stock you should call them and speak to the manager or buyer. Thanks for the comments!

Jeff Traina December 11, 2011 at 11:11 pm

I recently used 16 Oz to clean my exterior windows which had sprinkler spray calcify them pretty bad. Windex would not cut through the build up of the hard water, but Edfred’s did the trick!

Your product is a miracle in a bottle and I will be giving a gallon each to my parents and in laws for Christmas :) . You have a great product, I just wish you had a better supply chain as Ace locally did not carry it and OSH was sold out last time I drove the 15 miles to get some.

Have a good holiday and thanks again for such a great product which does what it says, which is sure rare these days.

Love the toilet bowl cleaner. Amazing!

Lee Leingang September 13, 2011 at 9:36 pm

My wife bought a bottle of Edfred ( she still has a few drops left in the original bottle) at our local Ernst Hardware store, when we first moved to this area in 1978. The water here is (violently/extremely) hard and she was looking for something to get it off our outside windows.

She had tried all of the name brands and as a last resort bought a bottle of Edfred. She used it on a wet mop and applied it to the windows. She waited 2 minutes and I heard a screams coming from the front yard.

Not only had it removed years of hard water deposits, she didn’t even have to wipe it off. It dried sparkling clean.

When Ernst went out of business 20 years ago she lost her supplier and has been searching for your product ever since.

She tried Easy Off Bam, Bring It On, Fuller Brush Bath Clean, Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower, Amway Tub And Tile,CLR, Mr. Clean Bath Scrubber, Limeaway, etc…………

We have wasted hundreds of dollars. Our daughter found your web site on the computer after looking for 10 seconds. Needless to say my wife is walking on cloud nine.

My most sincere thanks, Lee Leingang

I am having so much “fun” cleaning everywhere with my EdFred products and I’ve found that it’s contagious! My mom, who was with me back in the day when we bought our first EdFred products from Fedco, actually checked her cabinet and found several bottles that she forgot she had. Needless to say, she’s been cleaning with EdFred again too and her 25 year old (or however long ago it was when we bought it) products are still good and working perfectly.

One of her bottles even still had the price on it – $1.45!!! That’s crazy. = ) I’m glad your family company was able to spring back and I’m happy to know I will be able to shop at Ace Hardware and Orchard Supply to get more!!!

Cliff,

Thanks for the feedback. You can always contact us for help on our products. We have not posted a video to date of using our products – not sure what you are referring to.

When used as directed against soap scum, lime and rust we have a good track record if the directions are read and followed. You Do still have to scrub with maybe a ScotchBrite pad.

You may have not applied with just a damp, not soaked sponge. Try some full strength for a longer time to make sure you did not dilute the product. Try it on a crusty fixture. It will fizz and you can see it working. It is not magic, just basic science.

In any case, for whatever reason if the product does not meet your particular expectation we will cheerfully honor our double money back guarantee including shipping.

Just tried my EDFRED shower stall cleaner i purchased directly from edfred corp. I saw the video of the shower cleaning and was amazed. So i bought some to try for myself. Did half my shower door glass to try and see the difference. Did not work at all does not remove soap scum could not even tell the clean side from the dirty side. Its basically worthless. Plain water works as good as this cleaner. Also purchased the toilet bowl cleaner will review it later. Save your money, as we all know if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Lesson learned. God Bless

Virgil Miller September 6, 2011 at 12:02 pm

My wife and I own rental property in Sonoma County. We have used ‘Edfred tub and tile cleaner’ as well as your toilet cleaner for years. We have never had a product which works as well as yours.

Jasmine September 2, 2011 at 1:22 pm

We tried the Cling n’ Clean product and were totally blown away at how well it works and with little effort! We are repeat customers. Wish we had found your product earlier.

Highly recommend this product – we keep a bottle in every bathroom – we constantly get black stains/deposits in our toilet bowls and find ourselves using Cling n’ Clean at least weekly.

Judy Barrett August 24, 2011 at 12:01 am

Thrilled to find you! Hadn’t seen the product in years. Assumed you were out of business or bought out. I’m a Realtor who does a lot of clean-up and staging. EdFred is my all-time favorite products for restoring baths, kitchens, and tile floors. So happy to find it online!”

Thank you. Your product was the only, and I mean ONLY product able to clean the hard water mineral stains off my shower door. Now, go forth and sell a million gallons worth!!

Walt, Dinuba CA July 29, 2011 at 6:11 pm

I have used the Shower & Stall cleaner in 1980 when we moved into my parents house (a huge mess). It worked effortlessly then (had to apply it twice… the shower and tubs were awful) and we are still using it today! Can’t say anything bad about this product. Keep up the good work.

Heather B. July 28, 2011 at 9:02 pm

The Edfred shower stall and tile cleaner is a mainstay in our house. My mother in law referred me to this product and it is a must have! It makes cleaning so easy.

My daughter is off at college and called me about the shower in her rental house. I told her that Edfred is the only answer. We’re making this a three generation product!

Thanks for making bathroom clean up so much less work so I have more time to play!

Barbara July 8, 2011 at 10:25 am

I love Edfred’s! I have been using it for over 20 years. I used to do professional housekeeping. I always had it with me. It keeps faucets and sinks looking new. It keeps hard water from building up in toilets.
I moved to Oregon several years ago and was unable to purchase it so I tried another product with the same chemicals(I thought) and it took the chrome finish off my faucets. I buy the product whenever I return to California or I buy online. I have recommended it to my friends and we buy a case together. I won’t use anything else.

Lynda Scearcy June 13, 2011 at 8:57 am

I just stumbled over the shower product a year ago. I was so thrilled that I gave my staff bottles of the shower and the toilet cleaner…..I laughed and told them they would love it….they snickered at me….but, after the next weekend, my receptionist came in and said she went crazy cleaning all of her toilets….it worked so well, it was fun….her boyfriend thought she was crazy, but I totally understood the euphoria….

I purchased Ed Fred tile cleaner from a Ace hardware here in Mesa, AZ. a few years ago to clean the water stains from my cut glass goblets, but in doing so, I found the best scum remover ever!

At the store where I work we had some water sprinklers that were hitting some black tinted windows. Over time they were messy white encrusted windows baked in the AZ sun.

I took my bottle of Ed Fred where my manager sparingly used what was left in the bottle, and got them shiny black again.

Steve Muzick April 2, 2011 at 5:59 pm

I received your products and tried the “Original Shower Stall and Tile Cleaner” on my fiberglass surround bath. There was a lot of soap scum buildup so it took a little effort to get down to the surface. But, it shines like a polished surface now.

I’ve tried just about every product out there and they all make claims to be the best cleaner but after trying your products I can say they do work.

I will be back for more when my supply is gone.

Thanks for great products.

I am so glad I found Edfred. I have been a long time user of your products, both personally and in my working years. I was a real estate property manager (apt. manager) for almost 40 years, and I made sure my crew had Edfred on hand for the cleaning of the apartments.

If I remember correctly, you used to have an office on Tully Road in San Jose, and I used to sent my guys there for the gal. sized of the Edfred products.

When I moved from the San Jose area to the high desert, I couldn’t find it. After growling about it for a very long time, I finally thought to look on the internet, and there you were.

I love your products. They really do the job for which they are intended.

Should work great on any plastic or fiberglass for removing soap scum or hard stains. Over time lime, calcium, minerals and soap that reacts with them build up. This is what this product was designed for.

I am not sure why it would be a black film, maybe it is a black mold.

Our Shower Stall & Tile Cleaner is the product to use. We have been making that formula for 45 years!

Questions February 27, 2011 at 5:01 pm

Has anyone had any experience with using this product on the plastic shower pans and tubs? I have a black film building up and have tried everything to get rid of it. I did see the photos for the glass, which I am excited to see if this product works on my shower doors as well. Please let me know if you have had success with the product on shower floors.

Kimberly Dudow September 8, 2010 at 9:23 pm

I found your site by doing a google search for Ed Fred. We have been using so much of your shower stall and tile cleaner that we wanted to buy the gallon size which neither Ace Hardware or Osh Hardware has in stock.

I was going to place a special order for the gallon size at Osh as your website suggests, but the discount offered at your online store was too good to pass up. I like that you can mix and match different products to get the discount, so I am trying out a couple of your other products as well.

We have a mid century modern home built in 1958 and the Shower Stall and Tile cleaner did a really great job of cleaning our concrete walkways and making them look new. Thank you!

Mrs. Best,
We asked DoIt Centers to get back to verify their stock. We will update our site with their response when we receive it.

Mrs. Best September 1, 2010 at 3:17 pm

I have four houses and I don’t know how many bath toilets to clean. I just put your cleaner in each bowl and leave for two hours. Then I come back and quickly brush and flush – all toilet bowl rust or lime water ring is gone. My review has also been posted on edfredstore.com. It is the only product that works in the whole world.

Please contact DoIt Center in Valencia, CA and confirm that they still carry your products.

Karen King August 24, 2010 at 9:46 pm

Since living in San Antonio, Texas since 1986, I have found only two products that work on our very hard water stains.Edfred Shower Stall & Tile Cleaner and Edfred Toilet Bowl Cleaner.

All the other products that I tried appear to work, until after the tile drys and there still is soap scum..with one application of the Tile cleaner my shower and bath tub are clean to the bone. There is no need for multiple applications. Edfred Toilet Bowl Cleaner- also cuts through the hard water “ring” with one dose.

I love this product so much I buy it and have it shipped to my house in San Antonio, because no one in the area carries it anymore….don’t mess with the rest..try the best…Edfred….karen king

I live in Dallas, Texas and have tried to locate a retailer where I can buy the toilet cleaner and shower cleaner. My mother-in-law swears by your product and has me wanting to try it, too!

Yes, I did find a local Ace (and talked to the right
person) who is pulling it from the warehouse for me. Thanks for taking the
time to get back with me.

Linda Peevers July 20, 2010 at 11:13 am

I’ve used this product for over 21 years and it has made my life so much easier.

I just wish the Wal-Mart stores in Reno, Nevada would carry this product.

Everyone should know about this amazing product if you have well water. Removes the red iron and lime deposits.
Thanks,

Love Edfred!

Sue Lovvorn June 30, 2010 at 11:42 am

Just an FYI – I lived in Los Gatos/San Jose area for 37 years – consider it my home. Live in Austin now and MISS Orchard Supply Hardware very much. But, another friend who lives here and is also from San Jose is the one who told me about your product (hence, my recent purchase).

She has family there that usually buys it and brings it to her when they visit. I am going to give her a couple of bottles of the Toilet Bowl Cleaner so she can try it and possibly pass it on to her daughter.

Hopefully they will like it enough to buy it also – now that we know about the website, life is easier!

Also can use checking account and most other credit cards.

I can think of only 2 improvements:
1, Add a lemon, grapefruit, orange or some other citrusy scent.
2, Add PayPal as a payment option at the online store.

Thanks for the great story. Don’t forget to try the toilet bowl cleaner too. Toss the pumice stone for those hard water rings.

Pamela Matthews June 22, 2010 at 1:08 pm

Want to hear my story about Ed, Fred, & me? OK!
Thirty-plus years ago I was a stay at home mom. For extra spending money I decided to do a little housekeeping a couple of days a week. A couple of my customers were “dairy folks” in Chino, CA. They used Edfred for their showers and so I began using it.

My business grew quite a bit (people love having a clean-freak for a housekeeper) And this clean freak loved Edfred. I bought it at Fedco, which has been out of business for years now. I guess I just never knew where to buy it after Fedco closed because I haven’t used it for many years.

Well, my husband now, God love him, refuses to squeegee a shower and my clear glass doors look spotted all the time and the products I buy smell horrible and burn my eyes. As I was driving to work the other day I thought about Edfred! I wondered if it was still available and knew if it was I could find it on the internet!! (I love that!)

So Ed, Fred and I are reunited and I have already sold it to my boss who has a boat, my co-worker and one of our customers who does housekeeping! I called her the minute I found it on-line. That’s why I ordered six, plus I wanted the discount (Well, it paid for the shipping!) The price is way up since 1980, but I know it
will be worth it!

Hey! if you need a rep in So Cal, I’m your gal!!

admin June 8, 2010 at 5:34 pm

Rose,

The Shower Stall & Tile Cleaner that your ordered is amazing as a dingy white grout cleaner. For that lime or calcium hard water ring on your toilet bowl be sure to try our Cling N Clean.

You can order the 2 oz trial sizes at the online store, link at top of page. We usually have a special running on those where we pay the shipping.

Thank you. I am currently retiring my years of employment at a University to launch my Professional Organizing business…Fly Away Clutter. I will most certainly recommend your product to my clients. I can’t believe how good my floor looks. One would have thought my grout was dark gray when in fact it is white and now shines white! Is there ways for me to get samples of all your products.

Thank you

Thank you for such loyal support.

We have no plans to discontinue any products. They been popular for the last 45 years, were are hoping for another 45!

But as always we are dependent on friends telling friends. Also parents telling their children, to raise up the next generation of our no less than fanatical users.

Don’t ever stop making your products. if you do, let me know. I will buy a case or two. The best toilet bowl cleaner ever made! Now I know about some other products you make and I will try them too! I am a very happy customer. (Also posted review for Cling N Clean Toilet Bowl Cleaner on shopping cart.)

Since 2001, I have been a huge fan of EdFred’s Kling n’ Clean toilet bowl cleaner. I was having a party and had tried everything to clean the calcium and lime deposit ring around my toilets. A few days before a party, I decided I would remove the rings with a scouring pad, but that did nothing but add black marks to the ring. I asked a co worker what she used, since I never heard her complaining about this problem with her toilets. She just smiled and told me she would bring me the solution tomorrow. True to her word, she brought me a bottle of EdFred. I went home that evening, followed the directions, and could not believe that with a swish of the toilet brush the calcium and lime ring stains were gone. I have not used anything else since. Thank you for your amazing products! (This review is also posted at http://www.edfredstore.com)

I have used EdFred for years and can purchase it at home in CA…can’t find it here in NM so decided to order it for my host who has a toilet that he can’t get lime deposits out of. I assured him “This will get it out!”

EDFRED, “I think I love you!” This cleaner took all soap scrum off my shower tiles and was so easy to use.

Shower Stall & Tile Cleaner

I live in Orland Ca. and just tried your product. WOW I am in love!!! This product is FANTASTIC thank you for it.

admin October 20, 2009 at 2:26 pm

I am assuming you are referring to the Shower Stall & Tile Cleaner. The driveway cleaner is a completely different formula designed for grease, fat and oil.

You can buy online, even just a trial size to test it if you want. Let us know your results.

Jo Ann Reda October 20, 2009 at 2:22 pm

Thanks for the shipment. I’m lovin my EDFRED!! Can i use what i purchased
for a driveway as well, or do i need to purchase the driveway cleaner? My
husbands truck had a major leak of tranny fluid, and my driveway is very
slippery, and i see some oil stains which i never had before. HELP!!!

admin September 30, 2009 at 7:22 pm

Terri,

Send some pictures in and we will post them.

Terri Jones September 30, 2009 at 7:16 pm

You should see the difference in my daughters tile grout…but she has three bathrooms and I only had enough for one. Her shower is terrible and I know your product will do the job. Thanks so much for the info.

Carmen Jones September 30, 2009 at 7:11 pm

When I moved to VA 22 years ago, I brought from California my EDFRED Tile and Shower cleaner. Here in VA, the dirt is red clay and after a while in our new house, the tile grout was red…your product took it all out without scrubbing. I have had a hard time finding this product here. I had a little left and used the last of it (20 years old product) in my daughters bathroom and her tiles and grout look like brand new. I have never ever found a product that not only cleans for real, but without having to scrub.

Janet Austin September 17, 2009 at 11:24 am

To Phil & anyone else who’s interested…EdFred’s products are wonderful… ESPECIALLY the driveway cleaner!

I can’t imagine someone saying they don’t like them. In fact, the driveway cleaner was so incredibly effective that after the 1st time I used it, I took the time to write to the owner of the company (way before BLOG days) to tell him thanks for developing a product that worked wonders & kept our environment clean. I had used the driveway cleaner on my backpatio & driveway to get up old rust stains & all kinds of marks that were there for a long time. The product was incredibly effective! Try it; you’ll like it!

admin September 11, 2009 at 7:22 pm

Karen,

If you have a favorite hardware store or maybe a smaller grocery store let me know. I will give them a call and see if they will bring it in.

The larger chains take longer to get into but local retailers are always looking for something unusual to bring customers through their doors. Either post the info here or submit an email through the “Contact” button at the top of the page.

Thanks for being so loyal to our products!

Karen September 11, 2009 at 2:40 pm

We have a rental house in CA and thought we were going to have to buy a new shower pan it was so dirty! We tried everything and inhaled horrible fumes of other products. Our friend suggested “his mother uses this product call Edfred.” I found some and couldn’t believe how with little effort and 2 minutes of Edfred the shower looked great! Now I am trying to find some in MN for my own shower, couldn’t bring it home in carry-on due to airline regulations. I ordered online but would still like to know where I can buy it here in MN .

JUDY September 10, 2009 at 11:47 pm

We have used EDFRED for years, and this product never failed! The secret is to attack the oil right away not let it set for months. Our driveway looks like the day it did when we bought it 30 years ago.

admin September 10, 2009 at 1:40 pm

Phil,

Ouch! Hate to hear that. We sell a lot of that product, especially through Orchard Supply Hardware. Driveway oil soaks deep into concrete, so if the stains have been there a long time it will continue to “wick” up from the pores and require several cleanings.

It is also true that because of the environmentally friendly formula it simply cannot work as fast as the toxic petroleum solvents we all were accustomed to using that melt oil stains away.

But in any case if it did not meet your expectation we will gladly accept the return. I will email you instructions.

I see that you purchased the Cling N Clean Toilet Bowl Cleaner too, how did that work for you?

R. Phil Littell September 10, 2009 at 3:56 am

Dear EDFred,

I found the driveway cleaner totally ineffective. Please contact me to return the remaining four bottles that I purchased.

Thank you,

Phil Littell

Thanks for taking the time to share these with the rest of us.

It work, it works, it works!!! Finally, a product that works… I have gone through many different products trying to find something that will help clean these toilet stains, finally I tried Edfred. After following the appplication directions I waited 10 minutes, went around the toilet once with a toilet brush, flushed and Voila… it is sparkling clean!!!

I recommend edfred products, I have been using this product for years. There came a time when I was unable to find it in Illinois and believe me I went through every product in the meantime just throwing my money and time away. Nothing and I mean nothing out there works but Edfred products and with very little effort your showers will shine, etc. So glad I was able to find Edfred again.
